Duuuude! Long time no see. This is so cool! I love the variety but consistency of the fish and how non-awkward the octopus tentacles are (that's usually my struggle with octopi)

TurkeyOnAStick responds:

Yo spags, yeah it’s been about a year. You should hit the art forum brawl up as there’s a few of the old regs in that.

Octopus tentacles - I usually do a few freestyle sketches before I start anything to get in the flow and help address awkward poses.

So somewhere on my PC there is a sketch file that contains what can only be described as “harlequin octopi carcasses”.

I like it!

Your use of charcoal is very good! The smoke looks pretty smoky. I bet the person you designed the tattoo for will be very happy.

DweebyHawkeyes responds:

She was, thanks!

this is super cool!

ive been totally into the lebowski lately, so i'm happy to see this show up. the beards a little wonky in comparison to his normal hair, but it's still really well done!

Araelyn responds:

The Dude abides! Wonky in what way? If you'll notice, most beard hair is very different from the hair on a man's head. I was going by a reference photo and I tried to be exact! Thank you!

Incredible!

Already told you in the forum, but thought I'd leave a review too.
This is just stunning.
The detail is impeccable, creative, and interesting!
The color is beautiful and accurate.
The accuracy is perfect.
There's nothing wrong with it!

Vonschlippe responds:

Amen!!

Thanks a bunch :D

Awesome!

Nice linework!
Were you planning on inking/coloring it?

The only thing that seems a little off is the thorax seems a little off perspective.

SmokeryDots responds:

Thanks:)
-Yes, maybe give it some shading.

I know what you mean about the thorax, it's just that it has to be more like a triangular shape. Maybe that explains the "off perspective"?

I too have Illustrator CS4

And I find it very frustrating.
Seeing something like this made with it is inspiring because it's so awesome and gives me hope that I could do something like this soon. Good perspective and coloring, I don't understand why he's happy that he dropped it though.

Blakant responds:

he's a bit crazy... lol
do try pathfinding, it'll help alot.
the shortcut for pathfinder is CTRL+SHIFT+F9

work hard n u can do better than me :D

Great!

Love the composition, the character, the neat little background pattern (how'd you do that?) Would look awesome in a comic book setting. Don't really see any problems with this. Maybe not put the "stroke" effect on your character within the comic book, but it works as a singular showcase of the character.

Aigis responds:

The background pattern was done using the half-tone effect in Photoshop.

Good work

I like this a lot, but a few things I have to critique are:
The lettering. It's some odd rendering and kind of pixely at the edges, and it doesn't match the rest of the piece. It just seems kind of tacked on.
and
The right hand (His left hand). His thumb would be over his fingers, not under them. Just a minor detail really, but I am a picky guy when it comes to drawings of hands grabbing things.

I DO like the pose though, and the colorings not bad either..

Th3Reaper responds:

Thanx, all kind of critique is kindly accepted.

The unattainable is unknown, here at my profile.
